Coonawarra

The Menzies Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon 1987

Vintage quality:
In Coonwarra, the cooler than normal growing season of 1987 produced wines of distinctive character and complexity. This, the first release of "The Menzies" Cabernet Sauvignon, is an outstanding example of the influence of seasonal conditions. Awards & Accolades: 4 Gold
Cellar guide:
10-20 years
Last tasted:
1990, Simon Adams, Winemaker
Notes:
The nose shows pungent briary, red berry fruit, with a sweet smoky vanilla oak background. These characteristics continue on the palate, which is full bodied and rich, with long fruit flavours and a balanced creamy oak tannin finish.
