Coonawarra

The Menzies Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

Vintage quality:
1996 was a very good season for Coonawarra, with dry and warm conditions prevailing throughout the ripening period. This produced fruit which was not only ripe in terms of sugar, but also flavour. Awards & Accolades: 1 Gold
Cellar guide:
10-15 Years
Last tasted:
1998, Simon Adams, Winemaker
Notes:
Deep intense red colouring with youthful edges. There is a striking lift of leafy Cabernet with ripe sweet fruit, cassis and chocolates on the nose. The palate shows powerful fruit backed with silky soft velvety tannins. Firm and structured, this wine has the true stamp of Coonawarra.
