The Menzies Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon 2000

Vintage quality:
Spring temperatures were mild with a lower than average rainfall. The crop from the Menzies vineyard was lowest since the vineyard was planted; this lead to the grapes ripening two weeks earlier than usual and the flavours being of incredible intensity. Awards & Accolades: 2 Commendations, 2 Gold
Cellar guide:
7-10 Years
Last tasted:
January 2003, Peter Gambetta, Winemaker
Notes:
Yalumba The Menzies 2000 is a stunning deep crimson red in colour. A complex meld of cassis, soy and a tangy sea spray note of iodine intertwine to create a nose of full intensity. Medium bodied and well-balanced, the palate displays flavours of rich berry fruits and chocolate characters carrying through to a lengthy velvet finish.
