The Menzies Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Vintage quality:
The vintage was warm, dry and slightly early. The weather leading up to harvest were mild, and are considered ideal for a Coonawarra red vintage. Awards and Accolades: 3 Gold
Cellar guide:
Up to 10 Years
Last tasted:
September 2009, Peter Gambetta, Winemaker
Notes:
Unmistakably Cabernet Sauvignon, the nose is full, rich and ripe; reminiscent of blackcurrants, cedar furniture, bay leaves and anise. As with recent vintages of 'The Menzies' the wine opens with a full berry attack building to a round full mid palate of hint and oak. The wine is full bodied with great length given by soft, velvety tannins.
