Coonawarra

The Menzies Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Vintage quality:
Winter was wet which re-charged soil moisture and the aquifer. Cold, windy conditions prevailed during flowering and as a consequence lower yields were set. Summer was dry and warm by day with cool nights and little rain.
Cellar guide:
Decant and enjoy now or cellar to 2034.
Last tasted:
Andrew Caillard
Notes:
Well evolved cabernet with cassis, espresso, tobacco leaf, touch capsicum aromas. Inky deep palate with ample dark berry fruits, roasted coffee, tobacco leaf, black olive, chinotto notes, al-dente/ leafy/ grippy textures, attractive mid-palate density and hints of vanilla, marzipan. Finishes grippy and long. A firm claret style with lovely volume and mineral length.
