The Menzies Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Vintage quality:
A wet winter replenished soil moisture followed by a warm spring and summer.
Cellar guide:
12-15 Years
Last tasted:
May 2017, Natalie Cleghorn, Winemaker
Notes:
Dark cherry red with a crimson hue. The bouquet of the 2015 Menzies is elegant and inviting, notes of cedar and chocolate combine beautifully with rich ripe cassis, violets and the quintessential Coonawarra "sea spray" note. The palate of the 2015 Menzies opens with a burst of cassis and mocha. It is a structural yet generous wine, dark and brooding with restraint and promise of the enjoyment for years to come. The fruit flavours are well corralled by freshness and vitality. The tannins are sublime, giving the drinker an insight to the agebility of this wine, yet in its youth, it is enjoyable as an elegant full bodied red wine.
