The Octavius Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon 1988

Vintage quality:
Warm and dry conditions dominated this vintage. An exceptional parcel of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Coonawarra, and the creation of 55 new American Oak Octaves to age it in, have lead to the creation of the first vintage of The Octavius.
Cellar guide:
10+ Years
Last tasted:
June 1991, Simon Adams, Winemaker
Notes:
Cardinal red in colour, youthful, despite its age, the powerful nose is a combination of ripe fruit, coffee, mocha and vanilla. A rich, velvety wine that slides over the palate in waves of fruit and oak. A long term cellaring proposition. Awards & Accolades: 3 Gold
