The Octavius Barossa Old Vine Shiraz

Shiraz 2003

Vintage quality:
A dry winter gave way to a warm and dry January, with rain finally arriving in February. Some splitting occurred but thanks to diligent grape growers and winemakers, a vintage of trying conditions has produced smaller volumes of intensely flavoured wines.
Cellar guide:
15+ Years
Last tasted:
April 2005, Kevin Glastonbury, Winemaker
Notes:
Very dark in colour, impenetrable, deep black purples and red accents. A fine nose of ripe dark fruits, plums, prunes and liquorice, with scents of violets, dark chocolate and espresso. A palate of smooth and silky textures, with inky black berry fruits seamlessly interwoven. Beautifully refined with supple tannins, a wine of outstanding poise, elegance and length. Awards & Accolades: 2 Gold
