The Signature Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz

Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz 2001

Vintage quality:
A near perfect growing season with much needed winter and spring rains followed by a warm and dry ripening period.
Cellar guide:
8-12 Years
Last tasted:
June 2003, Kevin Glastonbury, Winemaker
Notes:
The Signature 2001 is a dense, plummy red that shows all the hallmarks of a classic 'Signature' wine. Rich red currants, plums and berries abound on the nose with tobacco and black pepper, creamy mocha chocolates, and hints of mint and anise. The palate initially fills out with dark berry and forest fruit flavours, into a fleshy mid palate surrounded with firm yet fine tannins. The wine finishes with a mouthful of layered lingering tannins.
