Yalumba The Virgilius Eden Valley Viognier

Viognier 2012

Vintage quality:
Winter conditions were warmer and drier than average. These mild conditions allowed for fantastic development resulting in grapes with great flavours.
Cellar guide:
Showing signs of a great Viognier now but will reward short term cellaring with even more layers of flavours and aroma.
Last tasted:
May 2014, Louisa Rose, Winemaker
Notes:
The Virgilius 2012 presents as pale gold in colour with green highlights. The nose has intense aromas of white peaches, apricots and ginger. Lifted ginger spice is layered on the palate with mineral texture and complex apricots and white stone fruit flavours. The trademark Viognier lusciousness of the palate is clearly evident in this wine which is rich, lush-textured and complex while at the same time showing restraint.
