Eden Valley

Yalumba The Virgilius Eden Valley Viognier

Viognier 2013

Vintage quality:
A drier than average winter lead into continued conditions of low rainfall. No extreme spikes in temperature resulted in an even and uninterrupted vintage with balanced, flavourful grapes.
Cellar guide:
Showing signs of a great Viognier now but will reward cellaring for 3-5 years.
Last tasted:
December 2014, Lousia Rose, Winemaker
Notes:
Pale gold with green highlights. The nose has intense aromas of white peaches, apricots and ginger. Lifted ginger spice is layered on the palate with mineral texture and complex apricot and white stone fruit flavours. The trademark Viognier lusciousness of the palate is clearly evident in this wine, which is rich, lush-textured and complex while at the same time showing restraint.
