An icon in Australian wine, Yalumba's Coonawarra-born Menzies Cabernet Sauvignon has long stood at the pointy end of our country's fine-wine pyramid, and I'm sure many will fondly remember occasions when a well-cellared example of the Menzies has knocked their socks off. Nothing's changed...

MORE ABOUT CORK
The Menzies Cabernet Sauvignon was named after Sir Robert Menzies, former Australian Prime Minister and well-known red wine enthusiast. In 1965, during a lunch at the Stock Exchange Club in Adelaide, Sir Robert Menzies declared the 1961 Yalumba Galway Vintage Special Reserve Claret to be "...the finest Australian red I have ever tasted." This comment did not go unnoticed, and in 1987 when we produced our first wine from the Menzies Estate Vineyard in Coonawarra, the recognition was rewarded on the label of this outstanding wine.
